Clinton School students, faculty and staff are encouraging people throughout Arkansas and the country to join them to remember the victims of the Haitian earthquake by wearing red and blue, the colors of Haiti, on Friday, Feb. 12.
A month after the 7.0 magnitude earthquake that killed and injured thousands on Jan. 12, the school hopes this gesture will remind Americans to continue to donate to aid organizations and support those working to help Haiti recover.
“Haitians are still suffering and working to rebuild their country and put their lives back together,” said Clinton School student Ivanley Noisette, whose family is from Haiti. “We ask everyone to remember their suffering and honor the people of Haiti by wearing red and blue on Feb. 12.”
President Bill Clinton, the school’s namesake, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have both led efforts to provide aid and support to Haiti in the aftermath of the earthquake.
“If there was ever a call to public service, it is now,” said Clinton School Dean Skip Rutherford. “The people of Haiti will need assistance for the long-term, and we are proud of everyone affiliated with the Clinton School who has come to the aid of Haiti. We hope everyone will join us in this gesture on Feb. 12.”
The Clinton School has also encouraged people to donate to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. To contribute:

Let us continue to pray and support the people of Haiti through this horrible time. We need to come together as One and respond to a hurting nation.
