The latest example to come across our desk is www.freerice.com, an interacting site where users match vocabulary words to their meaning. For every word you get right, the site donates 10 grains of rice to the United Nations Food Program. Just yesterday, 212,660,970 grains of rice were donated by vocabulary-improved individuals. But be careful, the site does carry this WARNING: “This game may make you smarter. It may improve your speaking, writing, thinking, grades, job performance…”
